Where do you buy your vintage audio?

I cannot vouch for this site, as I've never bought anything from them, but as I'm always on the lookout for eBay alternatives, I thought I'd share with y'all.  SoundsClassic.com

Oak Tree Enterprises has a huge selection of vintage gear and parts as well as restoration guides and general information on vintage stereo equipment.

I have had experience with Audiogon, and I can highly recommend them.

Where do you buy your vintage audio?

  1. I bought a Rotel RA-931 integrated amp on eBay (a good deal, and it works great), but I wouldn't call it vintage. So far, my vintage equipment has come from garbage night. A Technics SL-7 turntable, which I currently use in my living room system, an Akai AA-1010 receiver, which sounded great but which I sold, and the Soundcraftsmɘn I found the other day. I haven't looked for equipment on purpose, I just notice it when I walk by.

  2. As a kid, some 60 years ago, I purchased a blond, floor-model Hi-Fi, the first thing I ever bought w/ my own money. Unfortunately, when my father passed away, my step-monster gave it to one of her kids. Possession, being 9/10 of the law, etc., etc., etc. I don't know the brand. I'm looking for another that plays all the old-speed "records". And, most importantly, it must stack records, dropping one at a time to play. Does anyone have a suggestion of someone honest from whom I might be able to purchase a working one. It doesn't have to be a floor model, but I would like it to have a cover. Thanks so much. Sandy
