The Celestion Ditton was actually made in the seventies. My pair was manufactured in 1979, pretty late in the run.

I worked for a hifi store that sold these in the late 70s. We all felt they were the "best buy" champs at that time. I still own a pair and IMO unless you want to spend $3000+ nothing made today for less will sound as good. Also very tube friendly.
Got mine few weeks ago can't believe how much better they are over my ditton 15's (mk1) Treble bit high but just reduce treble a bit!
